Located at the intersection of commercial, transportation and residential activities, Jersey Grove was envisioned as a point of urban connection between the Saint George, New Brighton and Tompkinsville neighborhoods of Staten Island. Carefully calibrated to the scale and rhythms of this unique place, the project re-imagines the existing sanitation site as a space for community connection, resident comfort and refuge, and urban activity.

223 Apartments: Including 90 units for seniors.
Commercial Vibrancy: Ground floor FRESH food store and continuous storefronts on Jersey Street, Victory Boulevard, and Brook Street.
Community Focus: New 4,200 sq. ft. public plaza and a pedestrian street linking Jersey Street and Brook Street.
Sustainability:
Fully Electric: Heating, cooling, hot water, and cooking with efficient electric equipment.
Energy Efficiency: Designed to meet Passive House standards, exceed Local Law 97 requirements, and utilize renewable energy systems like geothermal heating and rooftop solar.
We are proud to have worked on this project, which was selected as a finalist by NYC Housing Preservation and Development. We look forward to more opportunities where we can reimagine spaces like these to create more human-centered, community-focused environments.
